The day was consumed with endless workman coming and going. With a new addition to the list, our one volvo engine started doing random things, bringing back memories of our previous fault. With spectacular efficiency the local Volvo dealer was with us by 3pm and changed the MDI board under warranty. With endless trips back and forth to the dock we decided it was high time I was driving Jeldi Jeldi proficiently! I don’t find the steering very intuitive and it took a while to get the hang of things again. The other issue is that when I am on my own, dare I say it the engine and I are too heavy (definitely because Rowan wanted a bigger engine to get on the plane more easily), so the front comes up so high I can’t see where I’m going! I need an extension on the handle so I can sit further forward. I had a Frenchman in a dinghy very concerned about my driving! Terry survived me dropping him off so I can’t be that bad!

In the late afternoon we went to the shops in our hire vehicle, we tried looking for a wine shop, google maps took us deep into the poorer part of the local suburb which was interesting, all so lush and green. We were definitely fish out of water judging from the stares we got, and definitely no sign of a wine shop. On the way back we went and found somewhere for an early supper. Rowan had given an elderly couple a lift into town who recommended the Container Park. it’s next to the university and looks like it was an old sugar mill, with loads of old bits of machinery and huge old bowls incorporated into the grounds. The food stalls are all in individual containers. Great for the students when they are around but it was a little dead so didn’t quite have a buzz. Actually we were way too exhausted, so wolfed our food down and rushed back to Polepole for an early night.
