Returning to La Marin

Rowan wanted the sun high so we could see easily over the shallow sandbanks. After breakfast we set off, I discovered why the bay looked murky when I pulled up the anchor, it was all covered in thick grey mud, ugh what a mess it made!

We discovered the other Catamaran leaving through the cut just ahead of us. They were rolling around all over the place so we were prepared for a rocky ride. Rowan had us through in no time, then sails up and we were off. He was so chuffed to be sailing again. The other cat had it’s sails up and was a little way in front of us. I sensed Rowan’s delight as we crept closer and finally overtook them!

Leaving through the cut, headphones on!

It was only a couple of hours before we were back in La Marin and we decided to stay further out this time, it took 4 attempts at putting the anchor down which I was not thrilled about, as I got covered by smelly grey mud each time.

We headed into the marina dock on Jeldi Jeldi, to get rid of rubbish and to stock up on some provisions, as Rowan had invited Greg and Jan to dinner. Sadly all shops close at midday on Sunday so we went back to Pole Pole empty handed. Luckily we had loads of tomatoes and cucumber so I made gazpacho, the rest was going to be pretty hit and miss, with left over bits of veg and some lamb chops.

In the afternoon we had our zoom quiz with our Norfolk crowd and dare I admit we came a resounding last! The Chapman’s 10 questions were to identify music played backwards……. we didn’t get a single point!

Dinner was fun to be socialising again, and the evening sped by, the latest we have been to bed in ages.
