We gobbled down breakfast in our excitement to get to land. As this is part of France they have exactly the same lockdown rules and we had to download the form on our
phones to get our QR code enabling us to be out and about. A little difficult as it was all in French which neither of us can speak. We were stumped by the fact we had to give a French post code, so Rowan just made one up that seemed to do the trick!
We went over in Jeldi Jeldi to the public dock which is a spectacular entrance leading straight down to the church, with gorgeous beaches on either side. Our little village is so picturesque, a bit of a ghost town but we then discovered it was 1May, a public holiday. We were loaded with bags for shopping. Sadly the stocks of the only general store was pretty limited, and our only essentials we managed to buy were – delicious local eggs, bread, and a bottle of rum (they had no Gin and this is the home of Rum). We had a lovely wonder around the streets with loads of tiny quaint old buildings. Lots of little local bars on the beach but everything closed, which is so sad. Lots of gorgeous vegetation with loads of bougainvillea out in an array of different colours.

Huge tuna, which we couldn’t buy as we have a freezer load of food we have to eat!

Fake Taxi Jokers

Tropical paradise but the beaches are banned during lock down – a helicopter swoops the beaches morning and evening checking they are empty.

Gorgeous colourful architecture

Gnarly old bougainvillea

Our essentials! Very French no fresh milk.
A hot afternoon and a very welcome swim around the boat, the current and tide are quite strong so I stick very close to Pole Pole. Rowan gave himself such a bad blister from his fins that he hasn’t ventured too far either.

Such excitement, Rowan’s managed to pay some money for some software to enable us to watch all the films we downloaded from our Beccles friend’s hard drive in Southside Marina. Tonight we watched Juno which was great easy watching.
