We did not get up to much in the morning, it is pretty steamy here in the marina. We did get some wonderful drone pics that Noah took when he was at home in Mettingham, plus amazing drone footage of the coast in Sweden where his family live. Rowan’s drone was not working, Noah gave him some advice, somehow it seems to be working again, great news! Phoebs has been working from home and enjoying our wildlife, with great videos of our resident barn owl. Dani has just joined her and getting very comfortable with English country life! When Han was home they all went to the Black Shuck festival in Bungay, our neighbours are the driving force behind it. We went last year to their performance in Bungay’s Fisher theatre, as expected from our artistic neighbours it was totally wacky and a real laugh. The kids didn’t last long this year though, after watching locals doing interpretive dancing without many front teeth they had enough!

Noah’s photo of Mettingham Castle House – an oasis of greenery in amongst the farm fields, Hannah wants to make it into a nature reserve!

We got our friendly Indian Taxi driver Anand to take us into town at 3pm to do a shop before my ENT appointment at the hospital. W plan to head off tomorrow and explore the chain of islands nearby, we need shelter as we are expecting another Bogi Walu, at least this time it will not be so intense. We went to the fresh produce market and stocked up on some fruit and vegetables, plus Cava as we are down to our last bundle. When we go to the remoter northern islands of the Yasawas (chain of islands) we will be doing Sevusevu again. We also stopped at the supermarket, the first time we have set foot in one in over 6 weeks. We loaded up over 30 cartons of UHT milk, we were nearly out, plus a few essentials like tonic water and chocolate.
Finally got to the hospital and wondered what all the serious commotion was about when I presented myself, only to discover the ENT consultant had been called away and my appointment cancelled. They asked me to wait and kept making phone calls until eventually they asked if I could come in at 8am tomorrow to see him. I didn’t have much choice but readily agreed, I’ve really had enough of my ear now, disappointingly it’s not hugely better on my mega intake of antibiotics.
We dropped our shopping off at PolePole and asked Anand to wait and take us to a resort down the coast that has a good Indian restaurant write up. It was a lovely setting on the water, but a rather tired looking resort with mainly local guests. We did have a very good Indian curry meal. It was also fun people watching, seeing all the Indian guests in their finery eating out for the night.
