Rowan is definitely on the mend, thank goodness. He came walking into town with me and is definitely walking more easily. But we are taking it very slow and easy, so we are staying put in the marina until we have to move to our new location on Monday where the solar will be installed on Tuesday, starting at 7am!
Our pontoon!
Rowan had put a message out on the Martinique Cruisers Facebook site, for crew to join us going to Grenada, incase his back is still troubling him. A young university French couple responded and came to see us in the afternoon. They were incredibly sweet, having such an adventure hitchhiking around the world on boats, although Covid is really messing their plans. We would happily take them but the issue we have discovered is that they have to quarantine with us or the boat they are joining has to start their quarantine over again. Sadly the boat they are joining is owned by a slightly dodgy sounding Ukrainian (his boat is apparently out the water having work done to it), who told Rowan we should just bring them anyway and let them jump off. We definitely don't want to jeopardise our situation and for them to quarantine on land costs $9000, out of the question for them. So it doesn't really look possible. Spending 14 days stuck on a boat at anchor with 2 strangers is not an option either. Grenada has a much stricter quarantine than here at Martinique. We have been given an exact location for our quarantine, and sounds much more closely monitored. We are going to be masters of quarantining by the time we get back to the UK and do our 14 days there, luckily we can do it at home! Wondering if anyone would ever find us at Mettingham to do a spot check there? Delivery people can't find us, will law enforcement do better?
The day has flown by as I'm hand stitching mosquito netting for our side hatches, and Rowan is absorbed in a new idea, I'll say no more!
Do get better Rowan, people on board would not be ideal Im sure! Not sure how they are going to track one in the UK, we're practising voices for one another in case it gets to that....looking at flights to go somewhere is a great pastime!!
